Distinctive traits: ripe red fruit and plum, complex and elegant structure
This single vineyard Sangiovese lies on a clayey-calcareous soil, known as “alberese”, in the geological formation of Monte Morello, one of the most representative typologies of the Chianti Classico denomination: very stony soil, rich in calcium carbonate and clay and poor in organic substance.
Harvest: on September 26,27,28 the best grapes of Colledilà vineyard were hand-picked.
Ageing: 18 months in 500 litre-tonneaux, of which 30% new and 70% second passage.
Bottling: December 11, 2018
A beautiful nose that shows dark plums, vanilla, tar, tobacco and spices. Full-bodied and very powerful with punchy tannins, but some real integration to the agile fruit and acidity. The complexity and depth at the end is breathtaking. (credits: JamesSuckling 2019).
