CASTELLO DI BROLIO, COLLEDILÀ, RONCICONE, CENIPRIMO 2020 Chianti Classico Docg Gran Selezione

Castello di Brolio's soils are composed of limestone (Alberese), sandstone and a Tuscan marl (Galestro), and the vineyards are located at an altitude of 400-490 m ASL, with an S-SW aspect.
Colledilà's soil is rich in calcium carbonate and clay, the so-called Alberese. The strong presence of limestone gives the wine greater structure, volume and a longer finish..
Roncicone's soil  is made up of marine deposits. The presence of sand and sea-smoothened stones give the wine its character..
CeniPrimo's soil, from an ancient fluvial terrace. The presence of sand, clay and silt give the wine a plump fruit character, plus a beautiful persistence and longevity.

Contains: 3 bottles of each wine

Castello di Brolio Gran Selezione 2020 96/100points "Bright and floral on the nose with orange blossom to the vivid sliced cherry character. Medium body, with ultra-fine tannins that are supple and caressing. Gorgeous cooked peach pie and cherry aftertaste. Delicious to taste now, but better in 2028" edited by James Suckling 2023.

Colledilà Gran Selezione 2020 97/100 points "Very perfumed with hibiscus flower, citrus and fresh cherry aromas that follow through to a medium body with layers of fruit and very fine tannins that go on and on. Totally integrated. A joy to taste and drink but will improve beautifully in the bottle. All about harmony. Drink or hold".edited by James Suckling 2023.

Roncicone Gran Selezione 2020 96/100 points: "This is the wine that blew me away last year (when I tasted the excellent 2019 vintage) and assured me of the innovative work now underway at Barone Ricasoli. Today, tasting the 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello di Brolio Roncicone, I am reminded of the quality fruit obtained from this special 10-hectare site with marine fossils mixed within its sandy topsoil. Showing brilliant clarity and focus, this carefully oak-aged Sangiovese offers rose, dried cherry, campfire ash and delicate mineral tones. This wine paints a beautiful portrait of this grape" edited by Monica Larner_The Wine Advocate 2023.

CeniPrimo Gran Selezione  2020 97/100 points "Aromas of al dente cherries with citrus peel. Flowers, such as red roses, also come through clearly. Medium to full body, with open grain tannins that caress like cashmere. Chewy, fresh and vivid. Give this three to five years to come together. Try after 2027. edited by James Suckling 2023.
